78 ISIL, Taliban militants killed in Nangarhar, Uruzgan

KABUL -- Security forces killed at least 78 militants in two provinces, media reported Tuesday (April 4).

At least 34 fighters of "Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant" (ISIL) were killed in Achin District, Nangarhar Province, in an air strike, the Afghan National Army (ANA) said in a statement Monday (April 3), according to TOLO News.

Police Tuesday (April 4) killed nine more ISIL members and arrested two, including a foreigner, in Achin District, said provincial police spokesman Col. Hazrat Hussain Mashriqiwal Tuesday, according to Pajhwok Afghan News.

Afghan forces on the ground and in the air killed 35 Taliban in various parts of Uruzgan Province, said the ANA in a statement Monday, according to TOLO News.
