19 ISIL fighters killed in Nangarhar

JALALABAD -- Afghan troops killed 19 "Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant" (ISIL) militants in fighting in two districts of Nangarhar Province, said officials.

The Afghan National Army (ANA) and provincial police spokesman Hazrat Hussain Mashriqiwal confirmed the deaths, Khaama Press reported Monday (April 10).

In the past 10 days, troops conducting Operation Hamza have killed 250 ISIL members in Kot and Achin districts, Achin District Governor Esmail Shinwari said Monday, TOLO News reported.

Seven Taliban were killed in the same battles, he said.
