NANGARHAR -- Fighting between Taliban and "Islamic State of Iraq and Syria" (ISIS) militants in Nangarhar Province has left at least nine insurgents dead, Khaama Press reported Monday (October 16).

Clashes broke out in Khogyani District in the past 24 hours, according to the provincial government. Those killed included six ISIS and three Taliban members.

The latest fighting came days after Taliban leader Mullah Haibatullah Akhundzada urged his commanders to reach a cease-fire with ISIS.

ISIS members killed four civilians in a separate attack in Nangarhar, said the provincial government.
