3 ISIS members killed in Nangarhar raid

NANGARHAR -- Afghan forces killed at least three "Islamic State of Iraq and Syria" (ISIS) militants in a raid on their hideouts in Nangarhar Province, Khaama Press reported Tuesday (October 24).

Afghan commandos, in co-ordination with other Afghan security forces, carried out the raid in Achin District, said the provincial government in a statement.

The Afghan forces confiscated weapons, including a machine gun and a rocket-propelled grenade launcher, the statement said.

Separately, the 201st Silab Corps of the Afghan National Army announced a new operation to wipe out ISIS and other insurgents in eastern Afghanistan.
