KABUL -- National Directorate of Security (NDS) forces arrested a group of nine suspected Taliban militants during co-ordinated operations in Kabul, Khaama Press reported Wednesday (September 26), citing a statement by NDS.

The suspects were engaged in collecting intelligence on security institutions and on the activities of security personnel, said the Wednesday statement.

The men were previously involved in roadside bombings and targeted killings of Afghan officials and security forces, the statement added, without specifying when the arrests occurred.

The Taliban did not immediately comment.
