Afghan forces kill at least 10 Taliban militants in Kunduz

MAZAR-E-SHARIF -- Afghan forces killed at least 10 Taliban fighters in two separate incidents in Kunduz Province, the 209th Shaheen Corps of the Afghan National Army said in a statement Thursday (March 7).

Afghan air strikes Wednesday (March 6) at about 10am killed at least six Taliban militants, including two local senior commanders, said the statement without providing details on the exact location.

Officials identified the commanders killed in the air strikes as Qari Wali Mohammad and Najibullah, also known as Haroon.

Separately, Afghan forces killed four Taliban militants and wounded at least six others in a clash in the Khwaja Pesta area along the Khanabad-to-Kunduz city highway, said the same statement.
