HELMAND -- An air strike in Helmand Province killed six Taliban fighters, including one of the group's intelligence officials, the provincial government press office said in a statement Monday (March 25).
The strike hit a Taliban centre Monday afternoon near Sharafat Bazar in Sangin District, said the statement.
Jahadyar, the newly appointed shadow intelligence chief for the district, was killed, according to officials.
No civilians were harmed, the statement added.
The Taliban did not immediately comment.
