KABUL -- Afghanistan's Independent Election Commission (IEC) Tuesday (May 14) announced the final results of Wolesi Jirga (lower chamber of parliament) elections for Kabul. Kabul was the last jurisdiction still awaiting final results.
Twenty-four male and nine female candidates secured seats representing Kabul, according to a statement released by the IEC. The nationwide elections took place last October 20.
The government announced preliminary results of Kabul's elections for Wolesi Jirga seats in mid-January. The Independent Electoral Complaints Commission rejected those findings.
