KANDAHAR -- Police in Kandahar killed at least six Taliban members, the Interior Ministry said in a statement Monday (June 17).
Police carried out the operation as the militants were searching a civilian vehicle in the Tanawbacha area along the Kandahar-Uruzgan highway, said the statement without providing further details.
Security forces freed two civilians being held by the militants, it added.
No civilians or police were harmed.
