KANDAHAR -- Police in Kandahar killed a senior commander of the Taliban's Red Unit Saturday (July 6), according to provincial police chief Tadeen Khan Achakzai.
The suspect, identified as Hafiz Multan, was responsible for the Taliban's special operations in Panjwai, Zherai, Khakrez and Maiwand districts, Achakzai said Monday (July 8) on Twitter.
The Taliban did not immediately comment.
