MAZAR-E-SHARIF -- The Afghan National Defence and Security Forces (ANDSF), led by Afghan commandos, killed at least 19 Taliban fighters in Faryab Province, the 209th Shaheen Corps of the Afghan National Army said in a statement Monday (July 15).
The operation was conducted in Bilchiragh District, the army said without providing details on the timing. At least nine other militants were wounded.
No civilians or Afghan troops were killed or harmed, it added.
The Taliban did not immediately comment.
