Afghan forces kill one of Taliban's 'most dangerous' commanders in Jawzjan

MAZAR-E-SHARIF -- Afghan security forces killed "one of the most dangerous" leaders of the Taliban in an operation in Jawzjan Province, the 209th Shaheen Corps of the Afghan National Army said in a statement on Tuesday (July 16).

The militant, identified as Dadullah alias Sarkhabi, was killed in Shorabi village, Qarqin District, the army said.

Officials did not provide further information on the timing of the operation.

At least three militants accompanying Dadullah were killed, the army added.

The Taliban did not immediately comment.
