KABUL -- The Taliban admitted carrying out a suicide bombing in Kabul that killed a Croatian soldier and seriously wounded two other Croatian troops Wednesday (July 24).
The Taliban claimed responsibility in a statement.
The two other soldiers' wounds were not life-threatening, said Croatian Defence Minister Damir Krsticevic.
No Afghan police or civilians were wounded, Kabul Police spokesman Ferdows Faramarz told AFP. The blast came from a car bomb, said Interior Ministry spokesman Nasrat Rahimi.
Croatia has about 100 troops deployed in Afghanistan as part of NATO's US-led Resolute Support Mission.
The attack did not target "CIA agents" as the Taliban statement claimed.
