KABUL -- Afghan forces killed almost 3,800 Taliban militants in the past year in the country's north, TOLOnews reported Tuesday (March 19), citing an Afghan military official.
"In total, we launched 88 operations under Operation Walid 97," said Gen. Adam Khan Matin, deputy commander of the 209th Shaheen Corps.
"The operations were carried out to support the rule of law, security and public safety. About 64 of the 3,771 militants killed in the operations were foreign nationals," he added.
"No security outpost of Afghan forces is under siege in the north or northeastern provinces of the country," Matin said.
