104 Afghan militants killed

KABUL -- At least 80 militants were killed in recent fighting in Badakhshan and Khost provinces, while 24 militants accidentally blew themselves up in Zabul Province.

Security forces late July 4 killed at least 13 militants in Arghanjkhwa District, Badakhshan Province, provincial police chief Ghulam Sakhi Ghafoori said July 5, according to TOLO News.

Troops recently killed at least 67 attacking militants in Musa Khel District, Khost Province, the Ministry of Defence (MoD) said, according to a July 4 Khaama Press report. The terrorists included both Afghans and foreigners, the MoD said.

At least 24 militants, including 11 would-be suicide bombers, were killed by their own explosives in Tangi village, Zabul Province, July 4, provincial deputy police chief Col. Ghulam Jilani Farahi told Pajhwok Afghan News. The terrorists were conducting a training session.

The dead militants included the Taliban shadow governor of Khak-e-Afghan District and some foreigners, Farahi added.
