KABUL -- At least 57 militants and 13 troops were killed in recent fighting in Afghanistan.
Troops killed 50 Taliban and arrested six suspected Taliban in a 24-hour span in 10 provinces, the Ministry of Defence (MoD) said August 21, according to the Afghanistan Times.
Thirteen troops were killed, the MoD added.
Separately, at least seven Taliban were killed in recent fighting in three districts in Faryab Province, the Afghanistan Times reported August 21.
Authorities recently arrested a Taliban-designated judge and 12 other insurgents in Shinwari District, Parwan Province, the Ministry of Interior (MoI) said in a separate statement August 21, according to the Afghanistan Times.
