Afghan forces kill 47 militants; suicide blast injures 4 in Kabul

KABUL -- At least 47 militants were killed across Afghanistan recently, while a suicide bombing injured four Afghans in Kabul, media reported.

Afghan air force jets October 5 pounded militant hideouts in Naw Bahar, Farah Province, killing at least 17 insurgents, 207th Zafar Military Corps commander Raz Muhammad Oryakhil said, according to TOLO News.

Separately, troops recently killed at least 30 militants in Uruzgan and Kandahar provinces, Uruzgan provincial police chief Brig. Gen. Wali Jan Sarhadi and Kandahar government spokesman Samim Khpalwak told Pajhwok Afghan News October 5.

A suicide bombing October 5 in Kabul wounded at least four civilians, Ministry of Interior spokesman Sediq Sediqqi said, according to Khaama Press.
