Afghan woman aspires to join air force

KABUL -- Kabul resident and Afghan air force cadet Sabira Rezaie is hoping to join the Afghan air force, TOLO News reported November 10, quoting her in an interview.

"I want to serve my people ... by flying in the sky," she said. Other female air force cadets, Zohra Nabizada and Shamim Noori, expressed similar hopes to TOLO News.

Rezaie formerly studied pharmacy at Kabul University but always hoped to become a pilot.

Afghanistan's air force academy has 215 cadets, including five women.
