11 Taliban, ISIL facilitator killed in Afghanistan

URUZGAN, Afghanistan -- Troops killed at least 11 Taliban members in Uruzgan Province Wednesday (February 8), Khaama Press reported.

The troops conducted air and ground operations in Tirin Kot District, said provincial security chief Noorzai, adding that they seized several improvised explosive devices (IEDs).

Meanwhile, Afghan and coalition forces in eastern Afghanistan killed Qari Munib, a key "Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant" (ISIL) facilitator, in a joint operation, the Presidential Palace confirmed Thursday (February 9), TOLO News reported.

Munib was killed nine days ago, the Palace said, adding that he was involved in attacking civilians in Nangarhar and Kabul.
