MAHMUD RAQI, Afghanistan -- At least 18 militants and a police officer were killed during separate clashes in Kapisa and Paktia provinces, according to media.
Fighting erupted in Tagab District, Kapisa Province, early Tuesday (June 13), killing 11 militants, provincial police spokesman Mohammad Ayoub Yousufzai told Pajhwok Afghan News.
Members of the local militia supported the Afghan Local Police in the battle, he said.
Seven militants and a police officer were killed in combat in Gardez, Paktia Province, Sunday (June 11), said provincial police, according to Pajhwok Afghan News.
