LASHKARGAH -- Troops foiled a terrorist attack on a military base in Gereshk District, Helmand Province, killing three militants, Pajhwok Afghan News reported Thursday (August 17), quoting the Helmand provincial government.
The militants were trying to breach the base perimeter with a vehicle packed with explosives Wednesday (August 16), said Helmand governor's spokesman Omar Zwak, adding that troops destroyed the vehicle with a rocket and killed two other militants trying to enter the base after the explosion.
