5 militants killed in Afghanistan; 11 surrender

KABUL -- At least five Afghan militants were killed, with 11 others surrendering and 10 captured, in various Afghan provinces recently, officials said.

Afghan troops recently killed five members of the "Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant" (ISIL) in Pacheragam District, Nangarhar Province, governor's spokesman Ataullah Khoghyani said November 13, according to TOLO News.

Troops recently seized a vehicle loaded with 150kg of explosives, foiling an attempt to bomb Lashkargah, Helmand Province, Khaama Press reported November 14.
