KABUL -- Afghan forces killed 58 militants in combat in Faryab and Logar provinces, reported media.
Forty-three militants were killed in Khwaja Sabz Posh District, Faryab Province, Pajhwok Afghan News reported Sunday (September 24).
The battle erupted after militants ambushed a commando convoy heading from Balkh Province to Maimana, Faryab Province, said the Afghan National Army (ANA).
Warplanes aided troops on the ground, added the ANA.
Meanwhile, security forces killed 15 Taliban militants in Baraki Barak District, Logar Province, Sunday, said provincial police Monday (September 25), according to TOLO News.
