MAZAR-E-SHARIF -- Afghan forces, aided by air support from NATO's Resolute Support Mission, killed at least 14 Taliban militants in Faryab Province, the 209th Shaheen Corps of the Afghan National Army said in a statement Monday (January 7).
The operations occurred Sunday (January 6) at about 4pm in Jilgeldi, Gholi, and Deewana Khana villages of Almar District, said the statement.
Two Taliban local leaders, identified as Sayed Azizullah and Mullah Zainullah, were among those killed, according to the statement.
The Taliban did not immediately comment.
