Khalilzad returns to Doha for more talks with Taliban

WASHINGTON -- US Special Representative for Afghanistan Reconciliation Zalmay Khalilzad has returned to Doha, Qatar, for further talks with the Taliban, the US State Department said Thursday (September 5).

"Ambassador Khalilzad has returned to Doha to continue talks," a State Department spokesperson said.

Khalilzad had earlier reached an agreement "in principle" with the Taliban that would lead to an end to the war.

The internationally recognised government in Kabul, with which the Taliban have refused to negotiate, voiced concern and sought clarifications.

It is a big sin to make peace with killers of the muslim people of Afghanistan. Almighty Allah has defined combatants in the holy Quran and Taliban are one of those combatants and it is legitimate to kill our enemy combatants.
